Founded in 2018, we are Hong Kong's first Muay Thai school to hold dual certification from both the I-1 World Muaythai Championship and the WPMTA World Professional Muaythai Association, and an affiliate member of the Hong Kong, China Muay Thai Council. Our motto is "Heritage · Courage · Wisdom", and we have served over 500 students, earning a 4.9-star rating on Google.
YouCanBe Muaythai School (德樂泰拳學院) in Tsuen Wan was founded in 2018, born from our founder's passion for Muay Thai and a commitment to shaping the character of the next generation.
We believe that every child is a future hero in the making. Through Muay Thai training, we don't just build strong bodies — we cultivate discipline, courage, and kindness of heart. Our school's name, "德樂" (Tak Lok), embodies the philosophy of "finding joy through virtue, spreading virtue through joy", matched by our motto, "Heritage · Courage · Wisdom", guiding every student to become the best version of themselves.
Over eight years, we have grown from a small studio into Tsuen Wan's flagship school, serving over 500 students. The biggest turning point along the way was earning dual international recognition from I-1 and WPMTA in 2021 — more than just a plaque, this reflects independent international review of our curriculum, coaching qualifications, and safety standards. See the International Certifications section for details.
Every class is our solemn commitment to our students, their parents, and the spirit of Muay Thai.
There's no shortage of Muay Thai options around Tsuen Wan — from gym add-on classes and small industrial-unit setups to large chain fitness centres. Here's exactly how we differ from the alternatives — not slogans, but verifiable facts.
In 2021, we became dually recognised by the I-1 World Muaythai Championship and the WPMTA World Professional Muaythai Association, and are an affiliate member of the Hong Kong, China Muay Thai Council. Certification means our curriculum meets international standards and our coaches' credentials are verifiable. See International Certifications.
In 2023 we upgraded to a 5,800 sq. ft. flagship venue in Tsuen Wan — not a corner of a gym, not a small industrial unit. It features a standard competition ring, 12 heavy bags, and EVA cushioned flooring throughout. See Facilities for details.
In 2024 we launched our exclusive Muay Thai Certificate Level-Up System, with four clearly defined stages, each including an assessment and certificate upon completion. Students always know exactly which level they're at and what to work on next. See Level-Up System.
Founder Yip Man Lung trained authentically in Thailand for many years, bringing 20 years of hands-on fighting and teaching experience. He personally designs the curriculum for every level — it is never outsourced or copied from someone else's materials.
Our toddler classes maintain a 1-to-4 coach ratio, and children's classes are capped at 10 students. Children's and toddlers' classes do not include full-contact sparring, the entire venue is covered with EVA cushioned flooring, coaches supervise throughout, and students are grouped by age and level.
All prices are published openly — the four-stage certificate course runs $3,000 to $3,800 per stage, the full four-stage package is $12,000, and one-on-one sessions start from $800. No hidden fees, no forced long-term contracts, no hard sell.
6 class types, 4 coaches, and 31 classes a week to choose from. Weekday after-school and evening slots, plus full-day availability on weekends. Can't find a time that fits? Private coaching is available. See the Class Schedule.
Having served over 500 students, we've earned a Google 4.9-star rating and become a top choice in Tsuen Wan. Several of our students have also won awards at international competitions.
A school's true value ultimately lies in where it aims to take its students.
To advance the development of Muay Thai in Hong Kong by providing children with a safe, engaging, and professional training platform. Through sports education, we nurture the next generation of outstanding young people who embody virtue, courage, and wisdom, carrying forward this traditional martial art and its culture.
How we deliver on this: our systematic certificate level-up system makes progress measurable, our 5,800 sq. ft. safe venue ensures a secure training environment, and small class sizes guarantee every student gets the attention they need.
To become Hong Kong's most trusted children's Muay Thai school among parents, building a learning community centred on love, discipline, and excellence. Every student who leaves our school carries with them a stronger body, greater confidence, and a kinder heart.
Our long-term goal: to nurture more fighters who take the international stage at the I-1 World Muaythai Championship, while planning branch schools across multiple districts to benefit more families.
"Heritage, Virtue, Courage, Wisdom" isn't just a slogan — it's the belief behind every class and every movement we teach. Here's what each of these four principles means in practice, and how they show up in our classes.
Carrying forward Muay Thai's centuries-old martial culture and spirit, preserving authentic technique, etiquette, and moral values for the next generation.
In practice: every class closes with the traditional Muay Thai Wai Kru ceremony, and we teach authentic classical technique rather than a simplified fitness version.
Emphasising martial virtue education — respect, gratitude, and empathy — so students grow into Muay Thai practitioners of good character.
In practice: students are explicitly taught "when not to use force" — technique is only for self-protection, never for bullying classmates.
Building the courage and perseverance to face challenges, learning the Muay Thai spirit of getting back up and never giving up.
In practice: level-up assessments provide clear challenges, and students regularly take part in large-scale performance events to build experience performing in public.
Training focus and tactical thinking — fighting with the mind, not just the body, weaving wisdom into every movement.
In practice: combinations require memorising sequences, and pad work requires judging distance — this kind of executive function training directly builds focus.
Anyone can write "years of experience" on a website. The real difference is whether it has been reviewed by an independent third-party organisation. Here are our certifications and what they actually mean.
An international Muay Thai competition organisation that hosts high-level tournaments, drawing top fighters from around the world, dedicated to promoting Muay Thai globally — one of the most respected names in the international Muay Thai community. Our school was recognised in 2021.
What this means for students: certificates and ranks earned are recognised within the international Muay Thai system; students aiming to compete have a clear development path, with the ultimate goal of standing on the international stage of the I-1 World Muaythai Championship.
An international organisation dedicated to promoting and regulating professional Muay Thai, certified by Thailand's government Sports Authority, authorised to run training programmes and set rules and certification standards for Muay Thai athletes. Our school was likewise recognised in 2021.
What this means for students: our curriculum meets professional Muay Thai standards officially recognised by Thailand — meaning what you learn is authentic Muay Thai, not a simplified fitness version.
Our school is an affiliate member of the Hong Kong, China Muay Thai Council, a formally recognised member body within the local Muay Thai system.
What this means for students: certificates and ranks earned can serve as proof of extracurricular activity and skill for school purposes; students interested in pursuing teaching also have a clear path forward via our coaching certificate courses.

From a small studio in 2018 to today's flagship school serving over 500 students. Every milestone has been about creating a better learning environment for our students.
Our founder opened the first small Muay Thai studio in Tsuen Wan, driven by a passion for promoting the sport. Starting from scratch, with just a handful of students.
Responding to parent demand, we officially launched Muay Thai classes for children aged 4–12, met with an enthusiastic response. This decision became the school's core focus going forward.
The school earned dual recognition from the I-1 World Muaythai Championship and the WPMTA World Professional Muaythai Association, with our curriculum quality affirmed internationally — becoming Hong Kong's first Muay Thai school to hold both certifications.
Upgraded to a 5,800 sq. ft. flagship school in Tsuen Wan, offering more complete training facilities and environment — a standard competition ring, 12 heavy bags, EVA cushioned flooring throughout, and a viewing area for parents.
Our exclusively designed Muay Thai certificate level-up system was introduced, motivating students to keep progressing — Hong Kong's first, making learning progress visible and measurable.
Having served over 500 students, we've earned a Google 4.9-star rating and become a top choice in Tsuen Wan. Several students have won awards at international competitions.
20 years of hands-on Muay Thai fighting and teaching experience, passing the spirit of Muay Thai on to the next generation.
Coach Yip Man Lung was introduced to Muay Thai from a young age, trained authentically in Thailand for many years, and has been dedicated to promoting Muay Thai since returning to Hong Kong. As the school's founder, Coach Yip firmly believes: "Muay Thai isn't just a sport — it's character education."
He personally designs the curriculum for every level, emphasising the three core principles of "safety first, interest-driven, and solid technique". He has trained over 500 students, several of whom have gone on to win awards at international competitions.
These three principles are reflected directly in how classes are run: safety first — no full-contact sparring in children's classes, EVA cushioned flooring throughout, a 1-to-4 coach ratio; interest-driven — toddler classes use gamified teaching so children fall in love with moving first; solid technique — we would rather go slower and get it right than sacrifice movement quality to rush progress.

This is what sets us apart most from typical Muay Thai classes. At most gyms, each class stands alone — you finish a session with no clear sense of how much you've progressed or what to work on next. In 2024 we launched our exclusive certificate level-up system, breaking the learning path into clearly defined levels.
| Stage | Duration | Classes | Technical Focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stage 1 | 3 months | 12 classes × 60 minutes | Stance, footwork, jab-cross, basic roundhouse kicks, defensive blocking, class etiquette |
| Stage 2 | 3 months | 12 classes × 60 minutes | Uppercuts, rear power punches, mid-level roundhouse kicks, front kicks, introductory knee strikes, combinations |
| Stage 3 | 3 months | 12 classes × 60 minutes | Elbow strikes, evasion and counters, basic clinch work, extended combinations, pad rhythm |
| Stage 4 | 3 months | 12 classes × 60 minutes | Distance management, feints, counter timing, controlled sparring, self-defence scenario application |
All four stages combined comprise 48 classes over 12 months, forming a complete learning cycle. Each stage ends with a level-up assessment, with a certificate awarded upon passing. The system aligns with I-1 and WPMTA international standards, so it isn't valid only within our school.
Each stage clearly lists the techniques to be mastered, so students always know exactly which level they're at and what's left before the next one — and parents know exactly what skills their tuition is building.
A certificate is awarded after passing each level-up assessment. For children, this visible achievement earned through their own effort is the strongest motivation to keep training.
The certificate system aligns with I-1 and WPMTA international standards and can serve as proof of extracurricular activity and skill for school purposes — it isn't valid only within our school.
Students who reach the appropriate rank and wish to pursue teaching can enrol in our International Muay Thai Coaching Certificate Course.
Professional equipment, clean and safe, spacious and comfortable — so students can train with full focus. We moved into this venue in 2023, our biggest investment over eight years — because a great training environment is itself part of the teaching.
12 Muay Thai heavy bags, so multiple students can train at once without waiting
EVA cushioned flooring laid throughout, providing ample cushioning for falls
Standard competition ring, used for fighter training and performance events
Fully equipped gym area for science-based physical conditioning
Separate spaces for men and women, ensuring safety and privacy
A comfortable viewing space so parents can watch classes throughout

This section isn't a sales pitch. These are five questions we believe every parent and student should ask before enrolling anywhere — even if you don't end up choosing us, we want you to avoid making the wrong choice.
| What to Check | Why It Matters | Our Situation |
|---|---|---|
| Are coaching credentials verifiable? | Anyone can claim "years of experience", but international certification requires passing a review | Dual I-1 + WPMTA certification, affiliate of the Hong Kong, China Muay Thai Council |
| Is there a systematic progress system? | Without one, students can't tell if they're improving, which is when most people quit | Hong Kong's first four-stage certificate level-up system, with an assessment at each stage |
| Is the venue independent and dedicated? | A gym corner or small industrial unit limits both safety standards and training space | A dedicated 5,800 sq. ft. flagship venue, with EVA cushioned flooring throughout |
| Is pricing fully transparent? | No prices listed on the website usually means pressure-selling once you arrive | All prices published openly, no hidden fees, no forced long-term contracts |
| What is the student-to-coach ratio? | Too many students means coaches can't correct individual technique, raising safety risk | Toddlers 1-to-4, children up to 10, teens up to 12, adults up to 15 |
The most practical approach: try a class in person. Observe how the coach interacts with children, whether the venue is clean, and how the other students carry themselves. We welcome you to book a trial class and tour our 5,800 sq. ft. venue.
